Single Origins & Blends Our signature coffees. We select only the finest estate coffees that the World has to offer. These coffees represent the “Best of” taste profile. These are the coffees that are truly the best coffees from countries known for being capable of producing true “specialty” coffee. We then roast them by hand in small batches. It has been our experience that every coffee has an ideal roast, and it is our job as “specialty” roasters to find and develop that roast.
Darks All of these coffees are roasted differently, and none are roasted excessively dark. Dark-roasted coffee should give the drinker the toasty, full flavor that darks traditionally offer, while preserving each coffee's unique and distinctive flavors. Too often, dark roasts all taste alike. It is our goal to make sure the unique characteristics that each single-origin coffee possesses remains in the cup.
Espresso Due to espresso's very unique brewing process, coffees for its preparation need to be roasted and blended strictly with this brewing process in mind. At Torreo, not only have we developed special blends for espresso preparation, we also roast these blends very differently from those coffees designed for traditional brewing methods, such as drip coffee machines and plunger pots. Our Espresso Blends feature seven different coffees, slow roasted to develop body, depth, and richness, and reduce the harshness/acidity often found in other espresso blends.
Decafs (The CO2 All-Natural Process) The newest and most cutting-edge natural decaffeination process is the method that employs CO2 to remove the caffeine. This all-natural process eliminates the need for the coffee to soak in water, which removes much of the coffee's inherent flavors. With the CO2 process, this natural gas directly attacks the caffeine while leaving all of the flavors intact.
Limited Edition Coffees These coffees include our current "Cup of Excellence" and "Featured Coffee", as well as other "Limited Edition" coffees that clearly have exceptional taste characteristics that vary from their normal taste profiles. As the heading implies, these coffees are available in very limited quantities, and once they are gone, those unique tastes may be gone forever.
